Dear Nobles,
I am on my way to Charlotte, North Carolina, for 149th Imperial Session. I’ll be joined by more than a dozen Ohio Board of Governors members. This event is a great way to connect with old friends and make news ones as we welcome Shriners from around the world.
It’s also a humbling reminder of the monumental speech that led to the creation of Shriners Hospitals for Children. In 1920 Forrest Adair made the now famous “Bubbles Speech,” where he challenged nobles to stop “blowing bubbles” and spend money on humanity. Adair finished his monologue to thunderous applause and the resolution to build an orthopedic hospital for children was unanimously approved.
Since that famous speech, Shriners Children’s has treated more than 1.6 million children worldwide and is recognized as a leader in speciality pediatric care.
We invite you to see the difference you’ve made in children’s lives by joining us for our Celebration event on August 25 and 26 in Dayton. For the first time, we’ll offer small group tours of our hospital in addition to hearing from our doctors, staff and patients. The reservation deadline is quickly approaching so click here to RSVP.
